Aug. 2, 2008 - Noe Morales from Bishop Texas caught this trout Saturday August 2nd in Baffin on a Waterloo HP Slam Mag Rod, Shimano Reel and Texas Tea Gambler.  It was 31 inches and weighed 9 pounds.  He is currently in first place in the CCA Star Tournament Lower Coast.  He placed 4th in 1999, 3rd in 2004, and second in 2005.  He was bumped down to second two weeks prior to the end of the tournament in 05.  Hopefully it will hold up and this is his year.  It’s pretty impressive to place in the Star that many years. 

May 15, 2008 - Jarrod Dreher hung, landed and released this 31.5" sow while fishing with Jesse Arsola using a Super Spook Jr..  Nice Hat!

April 7, 2008 - Bill Pitts caught this 30 1/2" ,  9 1/2 lbs  Trout on a Top Dog Jr - Bone/Chartruese in Baffin Bay while fishing with guide - Walt Kalinowsky (Riptide Fishing Adventures).. (This is # 5  -  30+ Trout in the last year !!!)

April 1, 2008 - Scott Wallace was in Baffin Bay when he hung this on a grind, 2nd spot of the day and she was caught at 12:45 PM..  Partner Mike was crashed out on the boat,lol..  "I was casting in ankle deep water with a Corky floater and the fish sucked it up. I knew there was something in the area and there was something larger there too...." 8# and a little less than 28 1/2 ' she was released and swam off forcefully, back to lay her eggs..

March 8, 2008 - Joey caught this 30" trout at 9:00 AM.  She weighed 9 pounds on the Boga.  The fish hit a Pumpkin Chartreuse While Belly Flapping Shad in 2 1/2 feet of water over mud/grass.  The fish was caught in the Upper Laguna Madre. 

March 4, 2008 - Ari caught this 30" trout at 10:45 pm.  She weighed 9 pounds on the Boga.  The fish hit a Catch 5 in 2 1/2 feet of water over mud/grass.  The fish was caught in the Upper Laguna Madre. 

March 1, 2008 - Bill Dennis caught this awesome trout in Baffin Bay using a Corky Fatboy.  She weighed in at 9 lbs., 29"..  Released healthy after photo. "No guide present"

February 22, 2008 - Johnny Hahn caught this sow as well a couple others upper 20's fishing with Capt. Jesse Arsola in Baffin Bay.

January 23, 2008 - Dave Marroquin caught this 30" - 9lb. sow in the upper laguna in the fog on a Catch 5 in 2'-3' over mud and grass

December 27, 2007 - Capt Joe Devine caught this 29.5", 8.75 lb. Trout in Baffin Bay on a pearl/chartruese original corky. (released) Joe operates Bay Slammer Guide service and can be found at www.bayslammer.com 

Dec. 16, 2007 - Jeff Hellekson caught this trout in the ULM. The trout measured 29 inches, and weighed 8.5 pounds. He caught her on a Waterloo HP Slam Mag and a Brown Sea Devil.

Dec. 2, 2007 - This fish was caught by Terry Tate with Capt Rob Cumming. Trout went 30 1/4" on a Laguna Rod throwing a Corky Fat Boy. It was his birthday; what a deal.

March 22, 2007 - Capt. Jesse Arsola with a 31.25" - 9.25 lb. trout caught on a Skitterwalk.

March 23, 2007 - Kyle Clift caught this 30.25", 8.5 lb. trout in Baffin Bay in the the morning on a Woodpecker Super Spook using a Laguna Texas Wader II and a Shimano MG/50.   

March 14, 2007 - Darrin Toney caught this Upper Laguna 29.25” Sow on a 6” roach  Sand Eel - Texas Wader III w/MG50.

March 12, 2007 - Capt. Brett Caron caught this 12 lb., 32-1/8" monster sow in Baffin Bay.  Brett was using a Texas Wader 1 Laguna Rod, and is a Team Laguna Rods member.

March 6, 2007 - Kevin Mercer landed this 29" on a Pink Corky while fishing with Capt. Jesse Arsola.

February 17, 2007 - Lance Burkett caught this nice trout in Baffin Bay on his last wade just before sunset. Conditions were big trout cold that week (2-16 was 31 in the early am), but three days of hard wading final paid off.  She was 28.5” and 7 ½ #, released to fight another day. Caught on an ALST TTS 6’6”, Shimino MG 100, B&L Pink Corky Fatboy.

February 16, 2007 - Todd Penick - Baffin Bay caught this 31" - 10.8 lb. sow in Baffin Bay on a Corky Fatboy. She had a 12''+ mullet in her throat too!

April 1, 2006 - Tony Nicholas caught this 28" , 7 lbs. 6 ozs. in Port Mansfield while fishing with Capt. Danny Neu of Laguna Guide Services.  She was caught on a black backed Spook Jr. with gold sides and orange belly.

April 24, 2006 - Capt Ken Marshall caught this 30-1/4" Trophy Trout  while fishing with Capt. Lee Warmke in East Matagorda.  Ken was using a Norton Bull Minnow.  captken@fishmatagorda.com

Feb. 12, 2006 - Jeff Philips of College Station caught these trophies on a Chartruse Catch V.  The larger one he kept for the wall, it was 30 inches and 9.25.  Ths "smaller one" is close to thirty, and 8.5.  He let her go. He was fishing with Capt. Kevin Cochran.
Feb. 17, 2006 - Rob Cummings caught this 29-1/2" - 7.9lbs Trout on a Corky Fatboy East Matagorda while fishing with Capt Jesse Arsola.

Nov.24,2005 - Vaughn Velasco caught and released this 28-1/2" in East Matagorda using a Chronarch, All Star Rod and a Corky.

Sept. 18,. 2005 - David Fish caught this 28 1/2" trout wading under the full moon on a red shad sand eel in Port Mansfield.

July. 30, 2005 - Jode Shupe of Laguna Rods caught this 31.25" Trophy Trout in Port Mansfield using Black Super Spook. Jode was fishing with the Neu brothers and Team Laguna Rods..

June 5, 2005 - Capt Tommy Countz and Capt Bobby Gardner invited Mike Thomas to go along on a scouting trip of East Matagorda Bay for a few hours 7-5-05. Mike caught this 28.5", 7.7 lb trout on a Norton Sand Eel, in Tequila Gold.

June 13, 2005 - Capt Jesse Arsola landed this 30"  8 lb. 4 oz. Trout on a Corky Fatboy Texas Chicken in Baffin Bay using a Lone Star Corky Rod and a Shimano Chronarch Reel

May 20, 2005 - Hector Saucedo with a 7 lb. trout he caught and released in Baffin, fishing with Capt. Kevin Cochran He was using a custom painted broken back lure.

May 21, 2005 - Donald Stavinoha caught this 29.75" South Texas Trophy Snook while fishing with Capt. Ernest Cisneros along with brother Scott, dad Ed, and Andy Farmer.

May 16, 2005 - Capt. Kevin Cochran caught this 29", 8+lb. Trophy Trout in Baffin Bay.

April 2, 2005 - John Kimball and Jason Lawson caught these 28" and 29" trout in Baffin Bay during the Wadefishing.com tournament. The 29" trout was caught on a Corky Fat Boy and the 28" trout was caught using a Bloodhound.  Both were will be skin mounted.

March 5, 2005 - Capt. Brian Bordosky, of Southern Escapes Guide Service caught this 28" Trout in W. Galveston over mud/shell Black/Chartreuse Top Dog, Shimano Chronarch MG 50 reel, 6'-6" H & H Custom Rod, 12/50 Power Pro line and 30lb Fluorocarbon leader

Feb. 2, 2005 - This 28 ½" - 8lb.2oz trout was caught by Rob Cummings in Baffin Bay on a frigid late afternoon wade in 3' to 4' of water. She was fooled by a Pink & Pearl B&L Corky, 6'6" AllStar Tops-n-Tails, Chronarch MG, Ande 12#, Lite NE 5-10, water color-Stained photographed, weighed and released to play another day.

Feb. 7, 2005 - Capt. Kevin Cochran caught this 8 lb. trophy trout in Baffin Bay on a top water.

Feb. 12, 2005 -Kurt Carpenter caught and released this 28" trophy trout along with three drifting in East Matty with Ruben Delgadillo, Keith Carpenter and Telby Turner.  Caught on dayglow fat boy Corky with Chronarch and Allstar Titanium.

Feb. 7, 2005 - Bill Barrett caught this 8 lb. trophy trout while fishing with Capt Kevin Cochran in Baffin Bay.

Nov. 11, 2004 - Capt. Jesse Arsola caught and released this 30 Ό” Trout in Matagorda Bay when fishing with friend John Brummerhop.  Jesse was using a Corky Fatboy.  A camera photo is all they had..

Oct. 31, 2004 - Capt. Jesse Arsola caught this 28" Trout while fishing with David Moseley and Steve Rahm in East Matagorda Bay. Jesse was using a ED Special, Lone Star Rod, Shimano Reel and Braided Line.

Oct. 30, 2004 - Brian S. Little caught and released this trophy, 29"  8lb, trout on Calcasieu Lake. He caught her on a chartreuse and white He-Dog, using an American Rodsmith Rod, Shimano Chronarch reel. 

 
 

Feb. 4, 2004 -Capt. Roland Gomez with a 30 1/4 - 9lb 11oz trout caught in east Matagorda. Capt. Gomez was throwing silver/black back super spook, with 6'6 rod from AD custom Rods,& a 4600c3 Garcia reel.

Aug. 14, 2004- Angler Larry Trick caught this huge trout on a plum-chartuse Tidal Surge Split Tail on the bottom. 33 inches and 11.2 lbs. picture does not do this fish justice. . it was truly a awesome fish.

Aug. 8, 2004 - John Schnautz of Aransas Pass caught this 30 inch 8 lb. trout in St. Charles Bay on a New Penny Corky, Falcon Rod, Curado Reel, and 12lb Ande line. 

Jody Nix caught this 28.5" Trout in Baffin Bay in March 2004 throwing a topwater.

Allen Gibson of Austin caught this 28-1/2 Trout March 26, 2004 south of the Land Cut on live shrimp.  Fishing with Capt. Bill Sheka out of Bluff Landing Marina in Flour Bluff.

Josh Zwahr caught and released this trophy 30+" trout 3-17-04, while wadefishing East Matagorda Bay. He caught it on a pink Skitterwalk, Laguna Rod, and a Shimano Curado reel.

Chris Gay caught and released this 28" trout while wading East Matagorda Bay on 4-3-04, with Glenn Rector and Josh Zwahr. Chris was using a Lone Star Rod, Shimano Curado reel, throwing a soft plastic suspending bait.

Jim Chambers caught this, 29.5, 9 1/4 lb. Trout while fishing East Matagorda with Capt. Jesse Arsola 3-2-04. It was caught on Rubberback, while using an All-Star rod, Shimano reel, with 12 lb. test line.

Sonny Torres, caught this 30.5", 9 lb. trophy trout while wading Baffin Bay with Capt. Jesse Arsola on 1-22-04. Sonny was using a Lonestar rod, Pflueger reel, 12 lb test line, and a Corky Fatboy.

Casey Stavinoha caught this trout in Baffin 1-17-04.  He was fishing with his Dad and 2 friends.  The fishing was excellent.  She was 28.5"s and 8+#s and released for another day.  He was using a pink and pearl fat boy.  He used a curado reel, titanium allstar rod, and powerpro line.   

J. Bailey caught this trout in Port Mansfield on November 8, 2003 at 1:00 P.M.  The trout was 29" long and weighed a little over 8 lbs.  The wind was blowing 20 mph. out of the northwest.  He was using an All-Star Titanium rod, Curado reel, and a Black and Red TTK.  She swam away after the pictures were taken.

12-02-03 - Layne Behrman, Baffin Bay 28" 8 lb trout caught and released her using pearl Skitterwalk, All Star Rod, Shimano reel, power pro 12-50, with guide Capt. Jesse Arsola

Cisco Tucker Kolkmeier caught this trophy trout during the 2001 Lingerie on the Bay Women's fishing tournament. She caught it in east Matagorda Bay, drifting over scattered shell, throwing a Norton sand eel. It was 30 1/4", 8-lbs. 9 oz., and won the tournament.

Travis Elliott caught this trophy trout 11-22-03 in East Matagorda Bay while fishing with Capt. Jesse Arsola. It was 30 1/8 in, 9 lbs. Caught on a pearl skitterwalk, with a Shimano Curado 200 reel, 12/50 powerpro line, 6'6" medium action Castaway rod. 

7-20-03 - Joe Braman caught and released this 28 1/2" trout on a Superspook, while fishing Port O'Connor

Jason Finley - I caught this big girl on the San Bernard river on April 17, 2003.  At 31-1/2" 9 lbs.- 8oz., it set a new state water-body record according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife. Believe it or not, I caught it on a trout rig.     Sweeny, Texas

Kevin caught this 28" Trout 6-21-03 while wading Baffin Bay with Jesse Arsola and Glenn Rector. She was caught around 8:00 AM, in about 3' of water with a blue and chrome Super Spook.

Lance Burkett caught this one March 7, 2003 mid morning in Baffin Bay. She was 28 1/2 " 7.5lbs. He was using an All-Star Classic 6 ' 6" med. action, Shimano Curado 100B reel with Ande 12# Back Country line and a B&L Corky. The conditions were light to no wind and 65 degrees with clear skies

Rob Cummings caught and released this one, late afternoon on March 6, 2003 in Baffin Bay. He was using an All-Star Emerald Edition 6 ' 6 " med. action rod, Shimano Chronarch SF 200 reel with Ande 12# Back Country line, and a B&L Corky lure. The conditions were Overcast and 62° with winds NE@5 -10 knots. She measured 29 ½ ". Not weighed, but was guesstimated @ about 9 lbs.

Brad Johnson caught this 29"- 8lbs 14oz Trout on 3/4/03, wading East Matagorda Bay.  Lure: Corky Devil, Rod: AllStar Titanium, Reel: Shimano Chronarch SF, Line: Trilene XL.

This 29", 8 lbs. 2 oz. trophy Trout was caught by Dink Shaw on February 21, 2003. He was wading East Matagorda, with Capt. Jesse Arsola, just before dark, when she hit his Corky Fatboy. The conditions were scattered thunderstorms, with a 25-mph. NW wind.

I, Glenn Rector, yes me, caught this 31 3/4", 10 lb. 4 oz. Trout while wading Baffin, with Reel-Life-Adventures, Capt. Jesse Arsola. I was throwing a Corky, with a G-Loomis Rod, Shimano Curado 101B reel, with 12 lb. Stren Heavy Cover line. This trout was caught a half hour before dark in 3-4' of water.

Josh Zwahr caught and released this 27 1/2" Trout in East Matagorda Bay on 2-6-03 while fishing with trophy trout guide Capt. Jesse Arsola. Jesse also caught and released a 29 1/2" Trout on the same trip. He was wading in 3-4' of water, with a Corky. He uses an American Rodsmith "Trout Master" rod, Shimano Curado 201B reel, and 12 lb. Stren Easy Cast line. The wind was blowing out of the East at 25-30 knots, with scattered showers.

Glenn Rector - Jan. 11, 2003. She was 28", 8 lb. caught around 10:00 AM, in West Matagorda Bay. It hit a plum w/ white Tidal Surge Split Tail, with a 1/16 oz. head. G-Loomis Rod, Shimano Curado 101b reel, w/ Stren heavy cover 12 lb. line. This Trout was in 3' of water over mud bottom. Conditions were, 45°, rain, and 10-15 knot East wind.

Chance Stone from Bay City, TX on 12-11-02.  29 1/2" trout caught on black and white Corky Fatboy while wading E. Matagorda Bay with Jesse Arsola.  Fish was released in good condition.  Guide Captain Jesse Arsola

Mike Dowler - Nov. 16th, 2002 Caught this 29" while wadefishing in Sabine Lake with Jay Wester of Specked Trout Clinic. Conditions were tough.

Jeff Hellekson. - Nov. 7, 2002 caught this trout at sunset on Sabine Lake. Jeff was fishing with Jay Wester of Speckled Trout Clinic. The trout was 27" and a little over 8lbs. He was using a Shimano Curado reel and a 7' American Rodsmith Troutmaster series rod with 12lb. Stren line.

Webb.  I didn't get a scale on her but I'm sure she was

 pushing 8 lbs.  I caught her in about 4 ft of water around

 2 PM.  We were fishing a mud  flat on  the North shore

 and the fish got more active  as the water warmed.
